Paris - Acid Reflex

Writer: Press ArchivePress Archive

Releasing an album that has Uncle Sam presenting a black child and a hand-grenade on the cover automatically says something is wrong, not only with how things are being done but also how we react. Paris' strong stance on his latest album is reflected by its timely release. Acid Reflex is laced with deep, politically charged samples and like-minded guests. For example, who knows the significance of this election better than Chuck D? He makes his presence and position felt on "Winter in America." The final song on Acid Reflex, "Don't Stop the Movement," features the ever-high and always funky George Clinton. If that's not a political statement in itself, I don't know what is.
